The Bassett's company mascot is Bertie Bassett, a figure made up of liquorice allsorts, which has become a part of British popular culture. Maynards Bassetts is a UK brand of confectionery owned by Mondelez International, introduced in 2016. [1] The brand was created to merge its existing Maynards and Bassett's brands, which the company came to own following its purchase of Cadbury in 2010.
The brand merged in 1990 with the Tottenham liquorice mill Bassett's, and Trebor as well as sweet manufacture of the three brands moved to Sheffield in 1991. By 2002 worldwide sales of Maynards Wine Gums were forty million pounds sterling per year.
