Central Park had 39 bridges at its peak. The bridges were devised as part of Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux's proposal for Central Park, the Greensward Plan. Most of the spans were built in the 1860s. By 1872, there were thirty-three spans; six more spans were built before the end of the 19th century.
The Bow Bridge / ˈ b oʊ / is a cast iron bridge located in Central Park, New York City, crossing over the Lake and used as a pedestrian walkway. Intricate arabesque elements and volutes can be seen underneath the span arch.

Bethesda Terrace's two levels are united by two grand staircases and a lesser one that passes under Terrace Drive. They provide passage southward to the Central Park Mall and Naumburg Bandshell at the center of the park.
