Like most secondary schools in Cornwall, it does not have a sixth form and students go onto either Truro College, Cornwall College or Bodmin College. The academy is currently graded "Outstanding" by Ofsted, being the top performing school in Cornwall and was one of the first schools to be designated a 'Teaching School' in England.
The college offers various further and higher education courses. [16]The college offers PGCE, CertEd and Cornwall SCITT teacher training courses. In April 2011 the school attained academy status, and on 1 September 2011 the school was renamed as Camborne Science and International Academy (CSIA). Since then, the school has been extended with a £3.2 million Design Technology block, incorporating the Design Technology, Food Technology and Graphical Drawing subjects, and those related to them.
