Murder case. On January 28, 2014, 18-year-old Justin Michael Back (February 13, 1995 – January 28, 2014) was murdered in Waynesville, Warren County, Ohio. Austin Gregory Myers (born January 4, 1995) [1] and Timothy E. Mosley (born October 11, 1994) [2] were convicted of murdering Back at his family home in order to steal a safe from the house.
Ronda Morrison, an 18-year-old white girl, was shot to death at a dry-cleaners in 1986. Walter McMillian, a black man, was arrested and immediately sent to Alabama's death row, where he was held for two years without having even been charged. McMillian was eventually charged in 1988 despite six witnesses placing him at a fish fry during the murder.
More than 800 people have lost their lives in jail since July 13, 2015 but few details are publicly released. Huffington Post is compiling a database of every person who died until July 13, 2016 to shed light on how they passed.
There have been a total of 43 executions in North Carolina, under the current statute, since it was adopted in 1977. All of the people executed were convicted of murder. Of the 43 people executed, 42 were male and 1 was female. 41 were executed via lethal injection and 2 via gas chamber. [ 1]
