Walter Carroll (4 July 1869 [1] – 9 October 1955) [2] was an English composer, music lecturer and author. He was born at 156 Great Ducie Street [ 3 ] in the Cheetham [ 4 ] district of Manchester .
The Walker family owned and lived in the guesthouse for sixty-eight years. The guest house location, on one and a half acres of prime gulf real estate put it in danger of demolition.
