A refueling Fast Fill System allows speedy and safe refueling for many types of equipment. This includes mining, heavy construction, busses and railroad. Most larger earthmoving and mining vehicles with diesel fuel tanks over 150 US gallons (570 L) are equipped with a refueling Fast Fill System.
It allows a V6 or V8 engine to "turn off" half of the cylinders under light-load conditions to improve fuel economy. Estimated performance on EPA tests shows a 5.5–7.5% improvement in fuel economy. [1] GM's Active Fuel Management [2] technology used a solenoid to deactivate the lifters on selected cylinders of a pushrod V-layout engine.
The Skyactiv-G [7] is a family of direct injection petrol engines. The engine compression ratio is 14:1, except in the U.S. market where it is 13:1 so the engine can operate on regular instead of premium gasoline; the lower compression ratio reduces torque and fuel economy by 3 to 5 percent. [8]
