Warrington Town Football Club is an association football club based in Warrington, Cheshire. They were established in 1949 under the name of Stockton Heath , adopting their current name in 1961. They currently compete in National League North and play at Cantilever Park.
It was granted by the state legislature to Gilmanton Academy and Atkinson Academy in equal shares in 1809 and contained approximately 19,000 acres (77 km 2). It was later expanded by annexation of previously ungranted land to the west. The population was zero as of the 2020 census. [2] It is part of the Berlin, NH-VT Micropolitan Statistical Area.
Atkinson Academy, the second-oldest co-educational school in the country, [8] was founded as a boys' school in 1787 by Reverend Stephen Peabody, General Nathaniel Peabody and Doctor William Cogswell; it began admitting girls in 1791. The school building burned to the ground in 1802, and was rebuilt in 1803 at a cost of $2,500.

[4] In 1918, the club was renamed as Southport Vulcan [4] [5] – having been bought by the Vulcan Motor Company – becoming the first club to take a sponsor's name.

The Southport Pavilion and Winter Gardens Company, which promoted it was locally based and had wide support in the town and throughout the north-west with 350 shareholders at its peak, but the addition of Frank Matcham's Opera House on an adjacent site in 1890–91 strained the capital base too far, and the Company went into liquidation in 1898.
