Route 123 is a continuation of R.I. Route 123, which crosses the state line between Cumberland, Rhode Island and Attleboro.In the South Attleboro section of the city, it crosses Routes 1 and 1A in quick succession, just south of the junction of the two and the start of the Attleboro-North Attleborough retail area.
The North Attleborough Town Center Historic District encompasses the most historic elements of the central business district of North Attleborough, Massachusetts. The area was developed between about 1860 and 1830 as a center serving the community and the surrounding jewelry manufacturing businesses for which the town was well known.
At this time, the mall was accompanied by other stores on Route 1 across and down the street like Toys R Us, Target, Circuit City, Babies R Us, Lowe’s, and others. It became a busy shopping area. On January 29, 2021, it was announced that Sears would be closing as part of a plan to close 23 stores nationwide. The store closed on April 18, 2021.
The area was largely bypassed by the industrialization that spurred the growth in importance of the centers of Attleboro and North Attleborough. Three houses within the district were built before 1800, one of them (the Stearns House at 692 Old Post Road) with a late 17th-century ell.

Route 120 is a state highway in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. The highway runs 2.32 miles (3.73 km) from the Rhode Island state line east to U.S. Route 1 (US 1) within North Attleborough in western Bristol County. Route 120 connects North Attleborough with Cumberland, Rhode Island.
A short segment of Route 1A, 1.8 miles (2.9 km) in length, in Attleboro runs from U.S. Route 1A at the Rhode Island border through a junction with Interstate 95, before heading north and merging with Route 1. The entire length of this segment is known as Newport Avenue.
