As of September 2024, three new lines are under construction, two light rail lines and one subway line: Line 5 Eglinton, a 25-station, 19-kilometre (12 mi) line along Eglinton Avenue, scheduled to open in 2024. A 9.2-kilometre (5.7 mi) extension of the line westwards is also under construction, scheduled to open in the early 2030s. [5]

During the planning stages for Line 5 Eglinton, the station was given the working name "Bathurst", which is identical to the pre-existing Bathurst station on Line 2 Bloor–Danforth. On November 23, 2015, a report to the TTC Board recommended giving a unique name to each station in the subway system (including Line 5 Eglinton).

Caledonia is an underground light rail transit (LRT) station under construction on Line 5 Eglinton, a new line that is part of the Toronto subway system. It will be located along Eglinton Avenue between the GO Transit Barrie rail corridor and the entrance to the Westside Mall.
As of 2020 however, in an addendum to the Line 5 extension, the addendum showed the future Renforth LRT station partially at-grade and the station located off-street on the north side of Eglinton, north of the transitway terminal.
