These administrative units are classified based on the district. There are 38 districts in Tamil Nadu and for revenue administration purposes, each district is divided into divisions, which are further divided to Taluks. [1] Each of these Taluks have a list of revenue villages under them. Tahsildar is the head of these Taluks.

The Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly is the unicameral legislature of the state of Tamil Nadu, in south India. It has existed since 1 November 1986. [1] As of 2022, it comprises members from 234 constituencies, who are democratically elected using the First-past-the-post system.
Gram Panchayat Councils (Tamil: ஊராட்சி மன்றங்கள், romanized: Uratci Manrankal, lit. 'Village government council') are political divisions of Tamil Nadu towns that have population of 500 or more. [1] They are responsible for running and maintaining the public infrastructure at the local level.
