The 2024–25 East Texas A&M Lions men's basketball team represents East Texas A&M University in the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Lions, led by seventh-year head coach Jaret von Rosenberg , play their home games at The Field House in Commerce, Texas as members of the Southland Conference .
John Lotz a former basketball player at East Texas State who later became head coach for Florida, after serving as an assistant coach at North Carolina. Shelby Metcalf was a member of the East Texas State Lions Men's team that won the NAIA 1954-55 National Championship, after his playing career he went on to coach at Texas A&M for 27 seasons. [17]

The East Texas A&M women's basketball team plays its home games at the University Field House on the university campus in Commerce, Texas. The Lions have won one conference title and has appeared in the NCAA tournament in 2007, 2019, 2020, and 2021. The team is currently coached by Valerie King. [2]
