Torque Game Engine, or TGE, is an open-source cross-platform 3D computer game engine, developed by GarageGames and actively maintained under the current versions Torque 3D as well as Torque 2D. It was originally developed by Dynamix for the 2001 first-person shooter Tribes 2 .

The focus is now on TGEA, and soon Torque 3D. No further updates will be made to Torque Game Engine. GameDevMich 00:31, 16 March 2009 (UTC) I agree, this article does not accurately reflect the status of Torque as a game engine and needs rewritten, it's an out of date reference to TGEA which has been updated inaccuretely.
