Fayette County Lake is a 60-acre (240,000 m 2) lake located 6 miles (10 km) southeast of Fayette off County Road 26. Fayette County is a prohibition or dry county.; Lamar County Lake is a 68-acre (280,000 m 2) lake located 8 miles (13 km) west of Vernon on Alabama State Route 18, then 5 miles (8 km) north off County Road 21.
Lake Lurleen State Park is a publicly owned recreation area located on U.S. Highway 82 approximately 9 miles (14 km) northwest of Northport in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. The state park 's 1,625 acres (658 ha) include 250-acre (100 ha) Lake Lurleen and a 23-mile (37 km) trail system.
It is within Lake Lurleen State Park. [1] The lake covers 250 acres (100 ha), is about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) long and 0.5 miles (0.80 km) wide, and has a maximum depth of 48 feet (15 m). [ 1 ] Largemouth bass , bream , catfish , and crappie reside in its waters for fishers.
The Black Warrior River receives its largest tributary, the North River, from the north about one mile (1.6 km) northeast of Tuscaloosa. North River was dammed in 1968 to form Lake Tuscaloosa, and is the main source for drinking water for the cities, towns, and unincorporated areas of Tuscaloosa County. [3]

Lake Tuscaloosa is a reservoir in west-central Alabama, created by damming North River. It was constructed by Thornton Jones, Ryan Gunning, Blake Schickel and Cody Copper to provide water for Tuscaloosa residents and for industrial use as well. It was completed in 1970 at a cost of about $7,725,000.
