The Gravitron first appeared at Morey's Piers in 1983 and quickly became a fixture at amusement parks in many countries. [1] It is a modification of an earlier ride called the Rotor. The ride was originally designed and manufactured by Wisdom Industries. The ride is completely enclosed, with 48 padded panels lining the inside wall.
In theories of quantum gravity, the graviton is the hypothetical elementary particle that mediates the force of gravitational interaction. There is no complete quantum field theory of gravitons due to an outstanding mathematical problem with renormalization in general relativity.
Franklin Hall was a normal human until empowered by an explosion that intermingled his molecules with sub-nuclear graviton particles generated by a nearby particle generator, which gave him the ability to manipulate gravitons (the subatomic particles that carry the force of gravitational attraction) and anti-gravitons (similar particles but with opposite force and spin of gravitons).
The Moonbase's Gravitron begins to malfunction due to a broken antennae on the lunar surface. The Cybermen beat crew members sent to fix the antennae to death. The Doctor discovers the pathogen was spread through infected sugar as a Cyberman disguised as a patient reveals itself.
The Rotor amusement ride was designed and patented by German engineer Ernst Hoffmeister in 1948. It was first demonstrated at Oktoberfest 1949, [1] and was exhibited at fairs and events throughout Europe, during the 1950s and 1960s.
The Bionic Six are taking an underwater tour of the Marianas Trench, scouting a test location for Prof. Sharp's new invention the Gravitron. On the tour, they meet up with their disabled friend Ronnie Gordon. While I.Q. is visiting Ronnie and his family, Scarab makes an attempt to steal the Gravitron.
Overflight of The Integratron, June 1975. The Integratron is a 38 feet (12 m) tall cupola structure with a diameter of 55 feet (17 m) designed by ufologist and contactee George Van Tassel.
The Meteorite in action at Worden Park. Round Up is an amusement ride consisting of a circular horizontal platform with a vertical cage-like wall around the edge. The platform is attached to a motor on a hydraulic arm.
