Cromer (/ ˈ k r oʊ m ər / KROH-mər) is a coastal town and civil parish on the north coast of the English county of Norfolk. [2] It is 23 miles (37 kilometres) north of Norwich, 116 miles (187 kilometres) north-northeast of London and four miles (six kilometres) east of Sheringham on the North Sea coastline.
Doumanian was born Jeannine Karabas, the youngest of three children born to Greek immigrant parents and raised in Chicago. [5] [6] Her father was a restaurateur. [5]She attended the University of Illinois but dropped out as a junior to marry John Doumanian, [7] a promoter for Capitol Records.
The Red Lion is one of the oldest inns [6] in the town of Cromer. The first recorded inn keeper was named as Sherman Cutler in the year of 1766. [6] The current hotel was rebuilt on the site of much older hostelry in 1887 [7] by a Mr John Smith of London. The building has evolved over the years to the building seen today.
