Lake Granbury is a North Texas reservoir near Granbury, Texas. It was created in 1969 and is one of three lakes damming the Brazos River . Lake Granbury is contained by the De Cordova Bend Dam and is a long, narrow lake, encompassed by 103 miles (221 km) of shoreline.
Granbury is a city in and the county seat of Hood County, Texas, United States. [2] As of the 2020 census, the city's population was 10,958, and it is the principal city of the Granbury micropolitan statistical area. Granbury is named after Confederate General Hiram B. Granbury.

[2] The county is named for John Bell Hood, a Confederate lieutenant general and the commander of Hood's Texas Brigade. Hood County is part of the Granbury micropolitan area.
The Granbury micropolitan statistical area, as defined by the United States Census Bureau, is an area consisting of one counties in North Central Texas, anchored by the city of Granbury. As of the 2000 census , the area had a population of 47,909 (a July 1, 2009, estimate placed the population at 59,493).
Cresson is situated on the border between Hood and Johnson counties, with the city limits also extending north into Parker County. US 377 leads northeast 25 miles (40 km) to Fort Worth and southwest 12 miles (19 km) to Granbury, the Hood county seat.
