The Royal Air Force Museum Midlands, located at RAF Cosford in Shropshire, is a free museum dedicated to the history of aviation and the Royal Air Force in particular. The museum is part of the Royal Air Force Museum , a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Ministry of Defence and also a registered charity . [ 2 ]
The Museum hosts many guided visits for groups and local schools. The Museum's public opening hours are: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 2.30pm to 4.30pm; Saturday 10.30am to 4.00pm and Sunday 2.00pm to 4.00pm. Guided visits are arranged for when the Museum is closed to the public. Admission is free.
He returned to the Royal Air Force Museum as Director in 1988 and finished his thesis "Museum & Gallery Management", gaining his PhD in 1989. [2] He was the director general of the RAF Museum's three sites – Hendon (London), Cosford and Stafford, all of which expanded during his tenure of over 22 years – retiring in 2010.
