Purani Jeans (transl. Old jeans) is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language coming-of-age drama film directed by Tanushri Chattrji Bassu. The film stars Tanuj Virwani and Izabelle Leite . [ 1 ] It tells the story of a young boy who returns to his hometown and reconnects with his old friends.
All the songs were composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal and lyrics were penned by Anand Bakshi. [4] The song “Dafli Wale Dafli Baja” was used as an interlude by Vishal-Shekhar, in the film version of the song, Radha, from Student of the Year, which also starred Kapoor. Sargam was also one of the best-selling Hindi film albums of the 1970s. [5]
The soundtrack album features eight tracks, with lyrics written by Arunraja Kamaraj, Gana Balachandar, Arivu, Vignesh Shivan and Vishnu Edavan. Composers Yuvan Shankar Raja and Santhosh Narayanan, [3] also sung one song for this film, while the latter collaborates with Anirudh for the second time after Remo (2016), [4] and the former's first collaboration with the composer. A version of the song was included in the Academy Award-winning soundtrack Slumdog Millionaire (2008) by A. R. Rahman. [9] The song features in the climax of the film, when the gangsters and mafia boss Javed dance to the tune while "Aaj Ki Raat" plays on the TV, though it shows the music video of Rahman's "Fanaa" from Yuva (2004) being played.
