Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument, a United States National Monument near Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, was established in 2014 to protect Ice Age paleontological discoveries. The 22,650-acre (9,170 ha) monument is administered by the National Park Service .

Muddy Creek Formation unconformably overlying the Horse Spring Formation in Nevada. The Horse Spring Formation is a geologic formation in Nevada. It preserves fossils dating back to the Neogene period. [2] The lower unit is conglomerate and the middle and upper are sandstone and freshwater limestone. [3]
