Paul Joseph Baloche [1] (/ b ə ˈ l ɒ ʃ / bə-LOSH; born on June 4, 1962) is an American Christian music artist, worship leader, and singer-songwriter. A native of Maple Shade Township, New Jersey , [ 2 ] [ 3 ] Baloche was the worship pastor at Community Christian Fellowship in Lindale, Texas , for 26 years.
The song was nominated in the 1998 Dove Awards' Song of the Year category. It has been performed for the Pope at the Vatican and for the President of the United States. [ 11 ] The song has become one of the most well-known modern worship songs, being sung by an estimated 25–30 million churchgoers every Sunday since the song's release. [ 12 ]
A Greater Song is a live album by Paul Baloche released in 2006. The album was recorded at Community Christian Fellowship in Lindale, Texas , where he served as the Worship Pastor at the time. The album features Kathryn Scott on three of the songs.

Initially, there was doubt as to the commercial success of the album as the release coincided with the release of new albums by Guy Sebastian and Paulini, but in that week more copies of God He Reigns were sold than every other CD in Australia combined (including pop charts, alternative, rock, et cetera).
