Lyons is a town in and the county seat of Wayne County, New York, United States. The population was 5,682 at the 2010 census. It is named after Lyon, France. The villages of Clyde, Lyons, Newark, Palmyra and Macedon all became homes to canal locks when the Albany to Rochester section of the canal opened on September 10, 1823.
