I know the OP said Best Liquor Store, but Honesty for the best beer selection, whether you want 4pks or singles drive across the Rt1 or Trenton Makes bridge and visit Trenton Road Takeout (TRT if you're a local) I promise you won't be disappointed. I've lived in NJ for over 10yrs, I have yet to find a better beer store.
If you just want, like, a case of beer, just walk across the Strip and east on Flamingo to the little liquor store behind the Cromwell. The price will be high but it will be less than paying for transportation to a real local store. All the other Strip stores will be comparable in price but that one is within easy walking distance of Caesars.
The Aeon Liquor in Aeon Style Himonya is quite impressive. The Aeon Liquor Osaki Hirokoji is smaller but good also. They've opened up quite a few new locations recently - the new Omori location looks big. I tend to find the wine selection at most Kakuyasu quite lacking. Not sure if it varies much by store. Yamaya is always good as well.
Buy beer/liquor from breweries/distilleries and stop supporting liquor stores they are just another middleman to increase tax on local products. Most don’t keep beer cold and most of it’s a couple months older than what you get a the breweries. If you are craving out of state beer….
Alright, people in this sub definitely know the cheapest liquor stores by neighbourhood! I’m looking in Boston proper. And I’m thinking by North Station for me, but a good compendium would be super helpful for everyone who wants a drink but doesn’t want to fork out all those $$$$
Sobo Liquors near S Broadway and Evans. Good quality stuff, good prices, super friendly staff, rewards system that gives you % off your total, and they have a drive-thru. Reply reply
These only exist in Jersey. New York doesn’t allow beer to be sold in liquor stores. New York also doesn’t allow chain liquor stores, so there really aren’t many superstores. In Jersey, there’s lots of Total Wines. In New York, they can only have one and it’s in Long Island.
I usually go to BQE Wine and Liquors, it's a discount liquor store. It's On Meeker and Humboldt in Greenpoint/East Williamsburg. Their scotch and whiskeys selection is jaw dropping, and occasionally undercuts VT and NH state liquor store prices on some items. Their rum section leaves something to be desired, but I'm also a rum nut.
If you are looking for beer, The Filling Station on Cervantes is wonderful. Surprisingly, Wine World by the mall also has a good selection of beers. We also use Ritchey's on 9th and Bambooze (I think that's what it's called) on Davis in the Food World shopping center. Bambooze is great for liquor and wine.
I travel throughout the state for work. I often think it would be nice to know if something is getting dropped while I'm in Toledo or Cincy or Mentor. A comprehensive database would be helpful in those situations. Similarly, if someone was in/near Mercer county, I'd have contributed the information for every OHLQ in the county.
