Devilman Crybaby is a 2018 Japanese original net animation (ONA) series based on Go Nagai's manga series Devilman. The web anime is directed by Masaaki Yuasa , produced by Aniplex and Dynamic Planning , animated by Science Saru , and released by Netflix .
Yuasa describes the character in Crybaby as: "Akira/Devilman is a crybaby, and at the end he is able to make Satan cry". [8] Ryoichi Tanaka was the first voice actor behind Akira, debuting in the 1972 anime. In the original video animation, Akira was voiced by Shō Hayami and Alan Marriott. In Amon, Akira is voiced by Shinji Takeda.
On May 24, 2000, a loose adaptation of the first volume of Amon: The Darkside of the Devilman was released. Being based on volume 1 of the manga (no other volumes were released at the time), it is much shorter than the manga, and branches off in an entirely different direction shortly after Amon gains control of Akira Fudo at the end of volume 1.
