Little Angels' English Higher Secondary School, locally known as Central syllabus school, is a private School located in Karur, Tamil Nadu, India. The school is the only one in the region following the X-std Indian Certificate of Secondary Education and XII-std Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations 's national curriculum.
School Education Department of Government of Tamil Nadu announced that, from 2012 educational year onwards, the books for students are merged to reduce carrying loads of books. T.S Sridhar, Additional Chief Secretary to Government told that the number of books reduced as two for 7th and 8th std students and only one book up to 6th std.
The school was established in July 1958 with 140 students and Fr. Mallon as the principal and has since grown to over 5000 students. This School was founded in 1959 as a Matriculation School affiliated with the University of Madras and it obtained its recognition vide letter p.A983 dated 19 March 1959.
Saint Mary's Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School was founded in 1839 by Joseph Carew for the purpose of affording the Catholic youth of Madras an education. It was known for nearly 44 years as St. Mary's Seminary and Day School. The first principal was William Kelly of Maynooth. The school celebrated its 175th year celebrations recently.
