Methuen High School first opened in 1975. The school was originally designed with the open classroom theory. Since then, a $100 million renovation [3] has been conducted and all classrooms now have walls. Also due in part to the renovation, students now receive iPads which they keep for the entire year. Jul. 2—METHUEN — The Methuen Scholarship Foundation recently announced that 41 members of the Methuen High School Class of 2022 have been awarded scholarships totaling $40,000.
Searles High School, now Methuen City Hall, is a historic former school building at 41 Pleasant Street in Methuen, Massachusetts, and an excellent example of English Renaissance Revival architecture. It was designed by Henry Vaughan , a favorite of wealthy industrialist Edward Searles , who funded construction of the building in 1904.
