Acton is a town in York County, Maine, United States. The population was 2,671 at the 2020 census. [2] It includes the villages of Acton, Miller Corner and South Acton. The town is home to the Acton Fairground, which holds the Acton Fair every late summer. It is part of the Portland–South Portland–Biddeford, Maine metropolitan statistical area.
Completion of the north end left a 4.0-mile (6.4 km) gap between the Marlborough–Hudson and Acton–Maynard portions of the trail. The east end of this gap is a dirt road known as Track Road, but no bridges over the two crossings of the Assabet River exist and some parts are on private property. It is a 26.24-mile (42.23 km) regional route connecting the southern coastal area to inland areas to the north and west. Its southern terminus is at U.S. Route 1 and State Route 9 in Wells and its northern terminus is at the New Hampshire border in Acton, where it connects to New Hampshire Route 109.
