City Terrace is an unincorporated area of East Los Angeles, in Los Angeles County, California, east of Downtown Los Angeles.It contains City Terrace Elementary School, Robert F. Kennedy Elementary School, Esteban Torres High School, Harrison Elementary School, William R. Anton Elementary School, Hammel Street Elementary School, Anthony Quinn Library, City Terrace Library, and City Terrace Park.
Gamble House was home to David B. Gamble of the Procter & Gamble company. Rose Bowl Aquatics Center. The Arroyo Seco runs the length of the Brookside Park. At the very center of the park is the Rose Bowl, at the southern end is Brookside Park (the actual park) and the Gamble House, and at the northern end is the Brookside Golf Course.
The 1.13-square-mile West Park Terrace neighborhood is bounded by Manchester Boulevard on the north (from Van Ness Avenue to Vermont Avenue), Vermont Avenue on the east (from Manchester Avenue to the City of Los Angeles boundary), City of Los Angeles boundary on the south (from Vermont Avenue to Van Ness Avenue) and Van Ness Avenue (from Manchester Avenue to the City of Los Angeles boundary).
It is located southwest of Downtown Los Angeles, along Alvarado Terrace between Pico Boulevard and Alvarado Street. Six homes and a church in the district were designated as Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monuments in 1971, and the entire district was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
Rancho Rosa Castilla was a 3,283-acre (13.29 km 2) Mexican land grant in the southwestern San Rafael Hills, in present day Los Angeles County, California, given to Juan Ballesteros in 1831 by Governor Manuel Victoria. [1]
