The Copa América is an international association football competition established in 1916. [1] [2] It is contested by the men's national teams of the members of the Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol (CONMEBOL), the sport's continental governing body.
The CONMEBOL Copa América (English: Americas Cup; known until 1975 as the South American Football Championship [1]), often simply called the Copa America, is the top men's quadrennial football tournament contested among national teams from South America.
