STVR was founded in 1991 by Derek Yates. [1] Martin Woodward become editor-in-chief in 1992, [2] and was later joined by Lee White. They were succeeded in 2006 by Jeff Offutt, [1] who was joined by Rob Hierons in 2011. [3] Jeff Offutt resigned and Tao Xie became co editor-in-chief in July 2019. [4]

Slovenská televízia (Slovak pronunciation: [ˈslɔʋenskaː ˈteleʋiːzɪɐ]; "Slovak Television"; STV) was a state-owned public television organisation in Slovakia.It was created in 1991 as the Slovak part of the former Czechoslovak Television and was headquartered in Bratislava.
In 1970, Czechoslovak Television launched its second network. [1] While in theory it was a single channel for all of Czechoslovakia, in practice, there were two versions of the same channel, one for the Czech side and one for the Slovak side.
