Marine Court is a Grade II listed [1] Streamline Moderne apartment block on the seafront of St Leonards-on-Sea, [2] part of the town and borough of Hastings in East Sussex, England. The block was built between 1936 and 1938 and was modelled on the recently launched Cunard ocean liner Queen Mary.

Hastings (/ ˈ h eɪ s t ɪ ŋ z / HAY-stingz) is a seaside town and borough in East Sussex on the south coast of England, 24 mi (39 km) east of Lewes and 53 mi (85 km) south east of London. The town gives its name to the Battle of Hastings , which took place 8 mi (13 km) to the north-west at Senlac Hill in 1066.

Covering an area of 83,317 hectares (205,880 acres; 321.69 sq mi), [5] Wealden is the largest of the six local authority areas in East Sussex, [6] which has three small, highly urbanised coastal areas (the city of Brighton and Hove [note 1] and the boroughs of Eastbourne and Hastings) and a large rural hinterland covered by three districts.

She went on to work for the counties of East Sussex and Hampshire, working on public buildings that included sheltered housing, schools and fire services. These included Halton Hastings, Fire Training HQ Maresfield (East Sussex) and Rushmoor Fire Station (Hampshire).
The town was to be re mapped and designated housing and recreational areas were to be created. [5] In 1930 the area was subject to the Hastings General Development Plan 1930. A large proportion of the woodland we know to day was declared as green-space. The map in the rear pocket of this Management Plan shows the area as a public-open-space [6]
