Hickory Creek (also called Hickory) is an unincorporated community in southwest Grundy County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. [1] The community is on the banks of Hickory Creek along the west margin of the Thompson River bottomland and six miles south-southwest of Trenton .

Most areas are owned by the department; some are leased by the department; some areas are managed under contract by the department; and some areas are leased to other entities for management.
The community was on the north floodplain of the West Fork Cuivre River at the confluence of Hickory Creek along Missouri Route W. Middletown is five miles to the southeast in adjacent Montgomery County. [2] A post office called Hickory Creek was established in 1840, and remained in operation until 1873. [3]
