The GP-25 Kostyor ("Bonfire"), GP-30 Obuvka ("Shoe") and GP-34 are a family of Russian 40 mm under-barrel muzzleloaded grenade launchers for the AK family of assault rifles. The BS-1 RGA-86 "Tishina" (БС-1 "Тишина" [1]) / BS-1M 6S1 "Kanareyka" is a silenced Soviet 30mm grenade launcher.It was developed specifically for the Spetsnaz.It uses a bolt-action mechanism to load blanks into the chamber along with the 30mm grenade VOG-T (ВОГ-Т).

Until 2008 [3] or 2013, Dmitry Utkin served as lieutenant colonel and brigade commander of a unit of special forces of Russia's Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU), the 700th Independent Spetsnaz Detachment of the 2nd Independent Brigade. [4] [5] [6] The Brigade is taking part in the Russian invasion of Ukraine. [7]
On 6 January 1959, the 242nd Separate Military-Transport Aviation Squadron was activated with the division. It included 10 An-2 Colt transports. On 15 August 1960, the 154th Guards Artillery Regiment became the 819th Separate Guards Artillery Battalion. On 27 April 1962, the battalion was upgraded to the 1140th Guards Artillery Regiment.
The 24th Spetsnaz Brigade was established on 1 November 1977 at Nara-Byrka (Yasnaya), Chita Oblast, in the Transbaikal Military District at a former R-16 (SS-7) Strategic Rocket Forces support site, by expanding the previous company. [1] Initially, only a command team and the 1st Battalion were deployed. In 1980, the 2nd battalion was deployed. [2]
The unit was formed in 2009 as an experimental reconnaissance unit out of experienced personnel from the Russian Airborne Forces (VDV) and Spetsnaz GRU. [3] It is speculated that the organisation was inspired by US armored cavalry type units.
