Kimberly Susan Rhode (born July 16, 1979) is an American double trap and skeet shooter. [1] A California native, she is a six-time Olympic medal winner, including three gold medals, and six-time national champion in double trap.
The defending Pan American Games champion is Kim Rhode of the United States. The event consisted of three rounds: a qualifier, a semifinal and a medal round. In the qualifier, each shooter fired 3 sets of 25 shots in the set order of skeet shooting. The top 6 shooters in the qualifying round moved on to the semifinal.
With her bronze in women's skeet shooting at the 2016 Rio Olympic games, Kim Rhode became the first American to medal in 6 successive Olympic games. Her prior Olympic medals were for trap shooting in 1996 , 2000 and 2004 and for skeet shooting in 2008 and 2012 .

In the qualifier, each shooter fired 3 sets of 25 shots in the set order of skeet shooting. The top 6 shooters in the qualifying round moved on to the semifinal round. There, they fired one additional round of 16. Ties are broken using a shoot-off; additional shots are fired one at a time until there is no longer a tie.
