The team began in the 2003–04 season as the Minnesota Blizzard based in Alexandria, Minnesota. Daniel Daikawa (born April 8, 1971) is an American-born Japanese former ice hockey player. He was the general manager and head coach of the Brookings Blizzard of the North American Hockey League [1] from 2014 to 2017.
He was not retained at the end of that season. In 2017, he was hired as the head coach and general manager of the Brookings Blizzard in the North American Hockey League. [1] The Blizzard retained Mantha for one season after it relocated as the St. Cloud Blizzard in 2019 before he retired in 2020. [2]
