Charter Oak State College is a public online college based in New Britain, Connecticut. The college was founded in 1973 by the Connecticut Legislature and offers associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees. The college is adjacent to Central Connecticut State University and is named for Connecticut's famous Charter Oak.
The station is owned by Connecticut Radio Fellowship, Inc. and features programming from Salem Radio Network. [4] WIHS is a ministry of the Connecticut Radio Fellowship, broadcasting music, local and national Christian programs. In 1925, the sisters established St. Lucian's Home for the Aged. The community became a diocesan institute in 1929, and later pontifical institute.

Central Connecticut State University was founded in 1849 as the State Normal School to train teachers. [9] It was the sixth normal school in the United States and is the oldest public university in Connecticut. [10] [11] It ran until 1867 when the school was temporarily closed due to opposition in the Connecticut General Assembly. [12]
