OXO (/ ˈ ɒ k s oʊ / OKS-oh) is an American manufacturer of kitchen utensils, office supplies, and housewares, founded in 1990 and based in New York City. OXO products are made in the USA and China. They provide a non-stick pro-Bakeware line that is completely made in the US. Some OXO products come with a "Made in China" tag.
Founded in 1865 as the Seldon and Griswold Manufacturing Company, the Griswold company became known as the premier manufacturer of high-quality cast-iron kitchen items in the United States. The Griswold cast iron foundry was based in Erie, Pennsylvania; and until the early 1900s, cast-iron items from this company were marked with an "ERIE" logo.

The factory in upstate NY was sold to Liberty Tabletop, who is the sole manufacturer of US made flatware. [2]
Later that year the Griswold brand and housewares division were sold to the Wagner Manufacturing Company of Sidney, Ohio. The plant in Erie, Pennsylvania, was closed in December 1957. [4] When the factory closed, sixty people were laid off. [3] Randall Corporation, the owner of Wagner since 1952, sold both companies to Textron in 1959.
