Nope. Xfinity has not (yet) taken anything away. Currently it has multiple overlapping apps for Android and iOS. I have Xfinity My Account, Xfinity Mobile, and Xfinity installed on my Android phone. Xfinity is informing cutomers that it is merging thes features of these apps into the main Xfinity app, but it is not clear when.

But "Go to inbox" is just a link that opens the "connect.xfinity.com" webmail site in a web browser.
It has nothing to do with VPN. you have to log in to xfinity email via web, then click gear/settings in upper right and under email settings click on Security, then check the box 'Third Party Access Security'. Go back to your iphone mail app and add account - connected right away - no issues!!! Like.
