Get Down Tonight: The Disco Explosion was a 2004 musical documentary special which aired on PBS.The special featured Irene Cara, KC & The Sunshine Band, Yvonne Elliman, The Hues Corporation, Peaches & Herb, Karen Lynn Gorney, A Taste of Honey, Rob Parissi of Wild Cherry, Leo Sayer, Deney Terrio, Frankie Valli, Martha Wash, Barry Williams, Norma Jean Wright and Felton Pilate.
The album peaked at No. 10 on the R&B albums chart. It also reached No. 129 on the Billboard 200. The album features the singles "Get Down, Get Down (Get on the Floor)", which peaked at No. 1 on the Hot Soul Singles chart and No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100, and "Music in My Bones", which charted at No. 7 on the Hot Soul Singles chart and No. 92 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The last five episodes brought the season one episode count to 11 — two short of the original 13-episode order The Get Down received in 2015. The Get Down was Netflix's most expensive series up to date, costing around 120 million. The expense of 120 million greatly surpassed the budget of 90 million.
