Blackfoot is an American Southern rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, formed in 1970. Though they primarily play with a Southern rock style, they are also known as a hard rock act. [ 1 ] The band's classic lineup consisted of guitarist and vocalist Rickey Medlocke , guitarist Charlie Hargrett, bassist Greg T. Walker and drummer Jakson Spires.
The band began touring and producing hit songs that included "Train, Train", which was written by his grandfather, and "Highway Song", lyrics and title were written by Rickey and Blackfoot drummer Jackson Spires. The songs music, backing vocals and solos were arranged by "Blackfoot" and appeared along with songs written by others.
Blackfoot Sue was a British pop / rock band, formed in 1970 by twin brothers Tom and David Farmer and Eddie Golga. [1] A single released in August 1972, "Standing in the Road" on the Jam label No. JAM 13, reached number 4 on the UK Singles Chart. [2] Lack of further tangible success left them labelled as one-hit wonders.
The band officially broke up amid declining fortunes in the mid-1980s, though Medlocke resumed recording under the name Blackfoot a few years later. He is now, again, a member of Lynyrd Skynyrd. [4] Heavy metal band Exodus covered "Good Morning" which was released as a b-side to the single "The Lunatic Parade" (1990).
Strikes is the third studio album by the American Southern rock band Blackfoot. [3] It was released on March 7, 1979, through Atco Records. Recording sessions took place at Subterranean Studios in Ann Arbor, at Sound Suite Studios in Detroit, and at Bee Jay Studios in Orlando. Production was handled by Henry Weck and Al Nalli.

John Colbert (November 20, 1946 – November 30, 2011), [2] known professionally as J. Blackfoot, was an American soul singer. A member of The Soul Children in the late 1960s and 1970s, he subsequently had a moderately successful solo career. His biggest hit was "Taxi", which reached the charts in both the US and UK in 1984.
