In 1923, it adopted the name Beijing Medical University. It was separated from Peking University in 1952. In 1954, Beijing Medical University was listed by the State Council as one of the Top-Six National Key Universities. [2] It merged back with Peking University in 2000 and is now named Peking University Health Science Center. [1]
Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH), also known as Beijing Xiehe Hospital (Chinese: 北京协和医院), is a large teaching hospital in Beijing, China. It was founded in 1921 by the Rockefeller Foundation and is affiliated to both Peking Union Medical College (PUMC) and the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS).
It opened in 1997 as a joint venture between China International, Inc. and the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. Beijing United Family was the first foreign-invested hospital to operate in China.
