Cox was elected to the Wyoming House of Representatives from one of Laramie County's six seats with the Democratic nomination in the 1962 election. [3] [4] [5] He won reelection in the 1964 election and served four terms in the state house. [6] [2] During his tenure in the state house he served as the chair of the Ways and Means committee. In 2010, Fleischli was awarded an honorary doctorate in law from the University of Wyoming. [3] In 2012, he was presented with an award for his community work including organizing a veterans' trip to Washington D.C. [4] Fleischli died in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on July 21, 2024, at the age of 98. [5]
