In 1956, Mrs Beatrice Grosvenor CBE (1915–1985), niece of the seventh Gerald Ralph Desmond Browne, 7th Earl of Kenmare (1896–1952) and granddaughter of the Duke of Westminster, built Knockreer House on the site of the former "Killarney House". The house was designed by Mrs Grosvenor's cousin Francis Pollen (1926–87). [1]

The Kelly homestead is the ruins of a house in the townland of Drumilra (sometimes misspelled Drimurla) near the town of Newport, County Mayo. [1] The cottage has three rooms and overlooks the Leg of Mutton Lake. It is situated on a boreen off the R311 road from Newport to Castlebar. [2] [3]
The 3rd Viscount built Kenmare House, in Killarney, County Kerry in 1726. This site would become the main residence of the Browne family for the next three centuries. Thomas Browne inherited the estate and the house upon the death of his father in 1736 but did not make the site his permanent place of residence until the mid-1750s.
