Eve Arden was born Eunice Mary Quedens on April 30, 1908, in Mill Valley, California, [1] [2] [3] to Charles Peter Quedens, the son of Charles Henry Augustus Quedens and Eunice Meta Dierks, and Lucille Frank, the daughter of Bernard Frank and Louisa Mertens. Lucille, a milliner, divorced Charles over his gambling and went into business for herself.
