Bridgwater Fair normally takes place in September — it starts on the last Wednesday in September and lasts four days. The fair takes place on St Matthew's Field, better known locally as the Fair Field. The fair is now a funfair, ranked as second largest in England after the Nottingham Goose Fair.
Bridgwater carnival now consists of a display of over 40 large vehicles up to 100 feet (30 m) long, festooned with dancers and up to 22,000 lightbulbs, [1] that follows a 2.5-mile (4 km) route over two to three hours. 2005 included the Masquerade 2000 entrants from Notting Hill Carnival. Bridgewater is a city in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, United States. [1] As of the 2020 U.S. Census, the town's population was 28,633. [2] The town center of Bridgewater is located approximately 25 miles (40 km) south of Boston, Massachusetts and approximately 35 miles east of Providence, Rhode Island. [3]

Bridgewater is in southwestern Litchfield County and is bordered by Fairfield County to the south and New Haven County to the southeast. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 17.3 square miles (44.8 km 2), of which 16.4 square miles (42.5 km 2) are land and 0.93 square miles (2.4 km 2), or 5.27%, are water.
