Explosions in the Sky is an American post-rock band, formed in Austin, Texas in 1999. The band is a quartet, composed of drummer Chris Hrasky and guitarist/keyboardists Michael James, Munaf Rayani and Mark Smith. The band originally played under the name Breaker Morant, then changed to the current name in 1999.

Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Live Forever is the second studio album by American post-rock band Explosions in the Sky, released on September 4, 2001 through Temporary Residence (the groups' first release on the label).
2002 was the inaugural year of the festival. Unlike subsequent years, it was a 2-day event only. The festival, arranged by Charlie Jones and Charles Attal founders of C3 Presents, was thrown together in a matter of three or four months.
