In November 2018, CBS News listed Church of the Highlands as the tenth largest megachurch in the United States with about 22,184 weekly visitors. [8] In the "Outreach 100" listing for 2022, Church of the Highlands was ranked second with attendance of more than 60,000 each week; it was ranked first in the previous listing in 2018. [9]
The Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex is located inside of the Bible Belt, and is home to three of the twenty-five largest megachurches in the country. [1] According to Pew Research as of 2014, the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex has the largest Christian population by percentage out of any large metropolitan area in the United States at 78%.

To handle expansion, the church built a 191,000-square-foot (17,700 m 2) sanctuary at a cost of $45 million, paying off the debt in four years. The auditorium was completed in August 2000 and features cascade seating, a large stage, a choir loft that can seat 450 and a state-of-the-art audio-visual system.
The museum was founded in 1967 by Mattie Caruth Byrd. It was formerly known as the Biblical Arts Center.In 2005, a fire destroyed the museum and 2,500 works of art.
He was senior pastor at the Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham, Alabama, from 2006 to 2014. At the time he was the youngest megachurch pastor in the United States. From 2014 to 2017, Platt was president of the International Mission Board. He became pastor-teacher at McLean Bible Church in 2017.
Feinberg joined the faculty of Dallas Theological Seminary as professor of Old Testament in 1934 and began radio broadcasting messages the following year. [1] [3] During that time, he also served as pastor of a church from 1936 to 1940. [1]
