The Magnetic North Theatre Festival was an annual festival celebrating theatre and related performing arts in Canada operated by the Canadian Theatre Festival Society in partnership with the National Arts Centre. Mary Vingoe is a Canadian playwright, actress, and theatre director. Vingoe was one of the co-founders of Canadian feminist theatre company Nightwood Theatre and later co-founded Ship's Company Theatre in Parrsboro and Eastern Front Theatre in Halifax. From 2002 to 2007, Vingoe was artistic director of the Magnetic North Theatre Festival.

In 2006 the production was presented at the Magnetic North Theatre Festival in St. John's, Newfoundland. The production was remounted in Vancouver in January 2008 at the Arts Club Theatre, Granville Island stage, co-presented as part of the annual PuSh Festival.
In 2016, the Magnetic North Theatre Festival was held in Whitehorse, with the Yukon Arts Centre named a presenting partner for the festival. [6] In the same year, the Yukon Arts Centre opened an art gallery and storefront in Carcross, in partnership with the Tagish First Nation. [7]
