The Iowa Hawkeyes are the athletic teams that represent the University of Iowa, located in Iowa City, Iowa, United States.The Hawkeyes have varsity teams in 20 sports, 7 for men and 13 for women; The teams participate in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and are members of the Big Ten Conference (since 1899).
In 2012 the Hawkeyes were 4–3 against teams ranked in the AP top 25. For the second consecutive year, the Iowa Men's Basketball program saw a marked uptick in attendance inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Iowa's average attendance for all home games for the 2011–12 season was 11,841, the conference-only attendance was 13,254 per game.
[1] [2] Reichardt played collegiate ball for the University of Iowa before being drafted by Green Bay Packers in the 7th round of the 1952 NFL draft. He played professionally for one season, in 1952. [3] Reichardt subsequently opened a men's clothing store in Des Moines, Ia., and became a prominent businessman and community leader.
The 1968–69 Iowa Hawkeyes men's basketball team represented the University of Iowa in intercollegiate basketball during the 1968–69 season. The team was led by Ralph Miller and played their home games at the Iowa Field House. The Hawkeyes finished the season 12–12 overall with a Big Ten conference record of 5–9.
