Kraków John Paul II International Airport (Polish: Kraków Airport im. Jana Pawła II since 4 September 2007; earlier in Polish: Międzynarodowy Port Lotniczy im. Jana Pawła II Kraków–Balice) (IATA: KRK, ICAO: EPKK) is an international airport located near Kraków, in the village of Balice, 11 km (6.8 mi) west [2] of the city centre, in southern Poland.

In December 2023 the airport gained a rail link to Tarnowskie Góry and Zawiercie, which allows direct trains running from the airport to Katowice. The stop for the airport terminal is called ”Pyrzowice Lotnisko” and is located approx. 500 metres from passenger terminals, to which leads an asphalt pavement.
The travel time is 21 minutes, and the train will begin the route at 05:00 to 23:00 every thirty minutes. In 2015 after renovations the route was extended to Kraków Balice which has direct access to the John Paul II International Airport, taking over the former Balice Ekspres train operated by Polregio. After years of no passenger operations, it resumed flight service on 20 January 2016 with a flight to Berlin, Germany. The airport has a newly extended and resurfaced runway that is 2500 meters long and 60 meters wide, a new ILS system, and is located in Szymany in Mazury region. Its toponymic Szczytno–Szymany reflects largely obscure localities.
