Our 11 year old Whirlpool GS6NBEXRL01 is not making ice cubs again. I had an issue when we first moved into this house 8 years ago and was able to resolve the issue by replacing the ice maker control module (AP4359694).
I have a Whirlpool GC5SHEXNS05 and I had the same problem. It was NOT due to ice, but rust.The ice bin would not come off because the rod (part #28) was rusted in the ice bin socket. It eventually came off when I exerted extreme force upward (while pushing in the release). Then the entire rod came up with the ice bin.
Fridge section is still freezing as well, it seems like it's only the ice maker that its not working. I was wondering if maybe the water inlet valve could be the problem, but I noticed that it has two valves (W10238100 and W10258562) and was wondering if both valves should be replace or if anyone has a different opinion as to what could be ...
Search for "Whirlpool ice-maker optics diagnostic". You may also want to manually induce an ice-harvest cycle, which is done by jumpering the T and H test points together. Not sure how long this will last but I just stripped the broken wire and wrapped it around a thumb tack and jammed the tack into the broken wire hole in the oval plug that is in the freezer wall where I could see the threads of the broken wire. It is making ice.
I changed the ice-maker but after a few days the chute froze again. Got out the hair dryer to defrost it. All worked well then after a few more days it happened again. It makes plenty of ice but when the chute freezes it stops making ice and there are globs of ice around the 6" water chute. What can I try?? :confused: Thanks for your help, Chuck

I have a Whirlpool gsf26c5exb00 refrigerator and the ice maker is not making ice. I have replaced the Water Inlet Valve and the Optics in the ice maker. The water dispenser on the door puts out water, but the Ice maker is still not getting water and making ice. I have the proper water pressure to the system. I am at a loss for ideas?
Refrigerator model no. is WRS588FIHZ00. Model No. on the side of the ice maker is W10771736A. It's an in-door ice maker. I think it probably stopped making ice due to the filter needing to be changed, so I changed it. I then reset the filter on the front panel, but it still didn't make ice overnight.
I have a Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator that stopped making ice a while back. The LEDs for the control unit would not register so I just replaced those. Now the arms appear to be working properly and the LEDs work properly but the water is not filling at any point in the process.
